St. Kitts announces partnership with Canadian romance expert

The St. Kitts Tourism Authority is once again at the forefront with its global promotional efforts in announcing that it has secured an industry-leading, strategic partnership with Canadian romance expert and influencer Alison McGill.

St. Kitts is the first destination to secure a comprehensive collaboration of this kind with McGill, an award-winning writer, creative producer, media personality, and brand strategist who is well-established as Canada’s foremost authority on the romance industry.

“The romance market is one of the fastest growing sectors coming out of the pandemic, and as such, we are laser-focused on securing key strategic partnerships that help us amplify the message that St. Kitts offers a truly unique romance experience,” said Ellison “Tommy” Thompson, CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. “Alison McGill is Canada’s most trusted expert on weddings, honeymoons, and romance experiences. We are excited to tap into her network to widen our share of voice, work collectively to build top-of-mind awareness, and target couples seeking an experiential travel destination like St. Kitts.”

Serving as the editor of Weddingbells magazine for 19 years (she also helmed Mariage Quebec, Salon Magazine, and Fashion 18), McGill is now the in-house wedding expert and columnist for The Kit, a popular women’s lifestyle site under the Toronto Star Newspapers umbrella. In 2021, she launched the podcast Aisle Seatselected by Brides as one of the ‘12 Best Wedding Podcasts’. She is also a regular contributor to Hello! Canada, The Toronto Star, 29Secrets, Brides, MoneySense and Bold Traveller. An entertaining and engaging speaker, she has been featured as a guest expert on a variety of romance-related topics for CityLine, Breakfast Television, The Morning Show, MuchMusic, BT Montreal, CTV Morning Live Vancouver, Global Montreal, ET Canada, Etalk, E! Network Canada, The Social, CTV News, The Goods, CBC News, The Weather Network, Canada AM, CHCH Morning Live, and Your Morning.

The partnership will kick off with a three-part sponsored series on McGill’s Aisle Seat podcast, which regularly features conversations led by McGill with some of the top industry professionals from around the world. The episodes will introduce listeners to St. Kitts, provide advice for planning a wedding or honeymoon in the destination, and highlight its romantic excursions, hotel accommodations, venues, service providers and much more. Further content-sharing opportunities will occur throughout the year, including on social media channels and via an online romance series targeting travel agents and wedding planners. McGill will also speak at a romance trends event, and participate in a number of PR initiatives, including a press trip to the destination to connect with local suppliers and gather content for future feature stories and TV segments about St. Kitts.

“As a destination, St. Kitts is at the vanguard of romance storytelling,” said McGill. “From the dynamic story content on the website to the stunning imagery that draws you into the narrative, to the multi-channel outreach that will be a part of the strategy in Canada, I am thrilled to partner with the destination as its messaging truly reflects the evolving interests of today’s couples and their desire to have more fulfilling and immersive experiences when they travel together. With its adventurous activities, dramatic landscapes, rich history, and warm, welcoming vibe, it is the kind of place modern couples are seeking – where they can dive into the culture, discover something new and create lifelong memories.”
